10+2 / Intermediate Examina on Pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science). Should have secured 40% marks in each subject and 50% in aggregate in Class XII. Should have studied English and Maths / Accounts / Book Keeping in Class XII or Class X. Should have secured min 40% marks in each of these subject, whether in Class XII or Class X. If a candidate is a graduate (any field) with Maths / Account / Book Keeping and English (even elec ve) as one of the subjects, the s pula on of scoring 40% marks in Maths / English in Class XII or Class X and scoring 50% marks in aggregate in Class XII is waived off. If a candidate is a graduate but not having English and Maths / Accounts /Book Keeping at graduate level, he should have scored minimum 40% marks in English and Maths / Accounts / Book Keeping at least once in Class XII or Class X.

Dispensation in Educational Qualification for Soldier General Duty CATEGORY
The following have been granted dispensation: (Effective from 01 Oct 2010 to 31 Mar 2013)
Class X Simple Pass (instead of 45% aggregate and 32% in each subject)
1. Jammu & Kashmir State‐ (Less Jammu, Sambha & Kathua Districts) and Ladakh Region including Kargil District.
2. Uttarakhand State‐ Batwari Tehsil of Uttarkashi District, Okhimath Tehsil of Rudraprayag distt , Joshimath Tehsil of Chamoli District, Berinag, Didihat, Dharchula and Munsiari Tehsils of Pithoragarh district.
3. Himachal Pradesh‐ District of Kinnaur, Lahul – Spiti .
4. Gujarat State‐ Rapar and Lakhpat Tehsils of Kutch District.
5. North East States ‐State of Assam, Tripura and Meghalaya.
6. Rajasthan State‐ Jaisalmer and Barmer District and Shergarh, Osian and Phalaudi Tehsils of Jodhpur District.
7. Punjab State‐ Candidates from Punjab who are domiciled within aerial distance of 20 Kms from the International Border (IB).

2. Only one type of Bonus Marks (Max of the permissible) will be added to the total. To elaborate, for Soldier General Duty, Son of Ex‐servicemen with NCC`B’ Certificate will get 20 Marks only and not 20+10 = 30 Marks.
